- An Intel® Pentium®-based 133 MHz or faster computer or equivalent ( PII-350 or higher recommended)
- Microsoft® Windows® 2000/XP/Vista
- RAM: 64 MB or greater for Windows 2000/XP (128 MB or greater recommended)
- 55MB or greater free hard disk space for program files and for peripheral software (plus an additional 5MB during installation, which will again become available post-install)
- for a network installation, 10 Mb/s or faster network connection speed (100 Mb/s or faster recommended)
- swap file (virtual memory) size of 64 MB or greater
- 800x600 or higher video resolution with 256 or greater colour depth (and small fonts)
- 8x or faster CD-ROM drive (32x or faster recommended)
- Adobe Acrobat Reader (version 5.0 or higher recommended for supporting documentation and help files)
- Hotdocs® Player™ is required for viewing our interactive forms if your subscription includes them.
- There is a workaround that allows Folio to be installed on Windows Vista. This can be found on our Installation Information page.

In order to keep your content concurrent, you can update your installation in two ways:
From your monthly CD
Place the CD into your CD drive and run setup. You will then be guided through the installation wizard once again but the process will be quicker than when you initially installed the CD. Certain fields such as those for your codeword and the installation paths will already be populated.Weekly Downloads

Although NextPage, Inc. (the makers of the Folio software) do not officially support the use of Folio 4 in these environments, internal testing of the software has shown encouraging results (for further details please refer to the readme.txt file
on CD1)

All Windows NT4/2000/XP users must have Local Administrator rights in order to INSTALL/UNINSTALL the program successfully.
All Folio CD clients and standalone users must have the following network/local rights in order to use the program successfully:- Read and Execute rights to the entire LexisNexis CD network program directory
- FULL rights (Read, Execute, Modify/Change, Delete, Create) to the LCF subfolder
- FULL rights to the local LexisNexis CD directory (typically, C:\Program Files\LexisNexis\LNCD4 or \LNCD4 Local)
- Read access to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\LNCD4UK
- Read/Write access to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\LNCD4UK
NB: System Administrators, as expected, should have both Local Administrator and Network Administrator rights.
