  • Q1. Will Hotdocs® Player™ 2007 still be supported after August 4th 2008? Expand

Yes. There is no requirement for you to upgrade.  We have just made the latest version of the player available for you so new installations get the latest version of the software.


  • Q2. Will Hotdocs® Player™ 2008 work on Windows Vista? Expand

Yes. Select the relevant option when installing the program.


  • Q3. Can you install Hotdocs® Player™ on a network server and have client PCs connect to it? Expand

No. Hotdocs® 2008 must be installed on each workstation individually.  You can centrally roll out the player silently using special MSI commands via a network push or individually.  See the Installation Guide “Network Deployment Notes” for details.


  • Q4. Where can I get help using Hotdocs® Player™? Expand

  • Q5. I get an error stating that the installation requires Internet Explorer version 6 or later? Expand

Assuming the computer meets the minimum system requirements.  Ensure you are logged in as an administrator or equivalent because installing with limited user accounts will return this spurious error.


  • Q6. Will my previously saved forms open with the new player? Expand

Yes. Hotdocs® 2008 is backward compatible.


  • Q7. Can Hotdocs® 2008 be deployed on a network? Expand

Yes. Please refer to the "Installation Information" Tab and link to the Hotdocs® Player™ Installation Guide for more details.


  • Q8. How do you uninstall Hotdocs® 2008 Player™ Expand

This can be done via the Add Remove programs applet in the Windows Control Panel. Please note Hotdocs will leave behind some information for future installs of the software. If you are uninstalling due to technical problems and wish to reinstall, please also delete the Software\LexisNexis\Hotdocs 6 keys from the Local Machine and Current User hives of the registry.


  • Q9. What are Personal Information Variables and where can I get guidance on using them? Expand

Personal Information Variables can be used to store common values such as your name and address. These can then be automatically added to your forms when you open them. Detailed guidance is available from the Downloads area.
